Swine flu claims four more lives in Gujarat, toll reaches 421

Four more people lost their lives due to swine flu in Gujarat today, taking the death toll in the state to 421 this year, a release issued by the Gujarat health department stated today.

"Gujarat has reported four deaths today due to swine flu infection, which include one fatality each in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Kutch districts," the release stated.

The death toll reached 421 today, since January this year, the release said.

Seventeen new swine flu cases were registered in various districts of the state, the release said, adding that 6,459 positive swine flu cases have been reported till date.
 

The Gujarat government also claimed that 5,854 patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals, while 184 patients are being treated at various hospitals, it said.
