The police rescued a 16-year-old boy from drowning in a stream in the outskirts of Jammu, the state's winter capital city, today.
The Jahjjar Kotli Police Station was informed that a oil tanker parked near the stream was being washed away in a flash flood, a police officer said.
A team was rushed to the spot and one person was found trapped within the vehicle, he said.

On reaching the spot the police started a rescue operation and saved the boy from the drowning vehicle, the officer said.
He was later identified as Danish Ahmed of Chamanwal in Banihal area of Ramban district, he said.
