Thatched houses gutted in fire

About twenty-four thatched houses were gutted and several domestic animals killed in a massive fire which broke out today in Maharajpur area here.

It took two hours for the fire department team to douse the inferno, sources said.

Some one set fire in the heap of garbage in the area and it soon spread to the thatched houses, they said.

Four fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire.

No one was injured in the incident, fire department officials said, adding few buffaloes and goats were burnt to death in the fire.
