Oscar-winning film 'The Sting' is heading to Broadway as a new musical.
The 1973 movie, set in Depression-era Chicago, Illinois, featured friends Robert Redford and Paul Newman and picked up seven Academy Awards in 1974 - but now producers behind a new stage version have Tony Awards in their sights, reported Deadline.
They have recruited three Tony Award winners - 'The Drowsy Chaperone' writer Bob Martin and 'Urinetown' duo Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis - for the project.
The late Marvin Hamlisch created the Oscar-winning score for the film, but it is unclear if his work will be incorporated into the planned stage adaptation.
