Three persons died in two different accidents in the city since this morning, the police said.
Two persons were dead when the bike they were riding skidded and rammed into a tree beside the Strand Road in the South Port Police Station limits, while one teenager was washed away in the Hooghly from the PK Tagore ghat in the same area both happened this afternoon, they said.
The accident happened at around 2.55 PM today in front of the Kendriya Vidyalaya on the Strand Road when the biker lost control of his vehicle which skidded and rammed into a road-side tree, a senior officer said.

"Both were taken to the SSKM hospital where they were declared brought dead. We are yet to get the details of the deceased and we are looking whether they were drunk or not," he said.
Sixteen-year-old Ajit Shaw, a resident of Maniktala Main Road was washed away in the Hooghly when he went for a bath at the PK Tagore ghat, the officer said.
"The boy's body was fished out by the Kolkata Police Disaster Management Group (DMG) and was declared brought dead when take to the RG Kar Hospital," he said.
In another incident, six persons were badly injured when an autorickshaw collided head-on with a goods vehicle on Aurobindo Sarani in the Sovabazar area today at around 3.05PM.
Those injured were taken to the National Medical College and Hospital where they were being treated, the officer said.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Police till this evening arrested 261 persons on the basis of "disorderly conduct" and prosecuted 254 bikes from different parts of the city in their drive to make the Holi a safer and happier one.
