Three held for attacking woman police constable in Maha

Three persons were held for attacking a woman police constable in Ahmednagar district today, police said.

The constable was attacked today while she was on duty to remove encroachments in Jamkhed tehsil.

"We have registered an offence under section 307 for attempt to murder," Additional SP Shailesh Balkawde told reporters.

"Three of the seven accused have been taken into custody," he said.

Incidentally, Maharashtra's minister of state for Home Ram Shinde hails from Ahmednagar district.
