TN govt sets comm tax revenue target at Rs 10470 cr in 2014-15

The Tamil Nadu government has set a target of generating Rs 10,470 crore revenue from commercial taxes and registration department for 2014-15.

"For the period 2014-15, a revenue target of Rs 10,470.18 crore has been set. As of September 30,2014, Rs 4,001.31 crore has been achieved. Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration M C Sampath who undertook a review meeting with senior state government officials has directed them to expedite steps to achieve the target", an official release here said.

Noting that government has already issued orders for construction of own buildings and integrated complexes within five years at a cost of Rs 104 crore, Sampath directed the officials to contact the respective district collectors where land for own buildings for sub-registrar offices was yet to be acquired.
 

The Minister also reviewed the progress of various projects announced during the Budget session held in May this year, the release said.
