Mizoram governor Lt Gen Nirbhay Sharma today said if Mizo traditional dresses, music and dances are tactfully exposed, it can attract huge number of tourists to the state.

Inaugurating the three-day Anthurium Festival and the Mizoram Bamboo Day, 2015 in Lengpui near Aizawl, Sharma said the Mizos should continue their hospitable attitude towards people from the outside to boost tourism in the state.

At least 58 stalls were opened at the festival and people from neighbouring Tripura, Assam, Nagaland and Manipur also participated.

Mizoram exports thousands of Anthurium flowers across the country and abroad annually since the cultivation was encouraged by the state horticulture department.

Different handicrafts made from bamboo were also displayed at the festival which was marked by music, singing and dances.
