The Transport Department of the Delhi government has started sending letters of intent for the purchase of three-wheelers to over 9,000 applicants.
It had invited online applications for issuing 1,000 auto permits in January this year. A total of 11,177 applications were considered, said a senior transport official.
Those lacking commercial permit were asked to submit necessary documents between August 28 and September 10. A total of 9,729 applicants did so.
During scrutiny, 9,064 applicants were found eligible for permits. These are now being issued letters of intent with which they can purchase three-wheelers from 28 dealers in Delhi, the official said.
