Tree falls on car, two injured

Two persons, including an elderly man, were today injured after a tree fell on the passenger taxi, in which they were travelling in Parel, a senior civic official said.

Manohar Kuchrakar(75) and Vidyavasani Mishra (52), were travelling in a taxi when the tree fell on the vehicle in Boiwada area at around 10:30 am, an official of disaster control room of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai said.

They were rushed to a hospital and later discharged, he said.

A former Doordarshan anchor, Kanchan Nath (58), who was taking a morning walk near a road close to her housing society here, had yesterday died after a coconut tree fell on her.
