Tripura Guv accepts spiritual initiation at Ramkrishna Mission

Governor of Tripura and acting Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Tathagata Roy and his wife Anuradha today accepted spiritual initiation from Swami Prabhananda, vice-president of the order at Belur Math Ramakrishna Mission.

71-year old, Roy told reporters that he received 'Diksha' from Swami Prabhananda at the Ramkrishna Mission at Viveknagar here.

Roy was formerly a professor at Jadavpur University, who founded the department of construction engineering there. He was also the General Manager of Metro Railway, Kolkata.

Earlier, he was also a national executive member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and president of the party's West Bengal unit.
