"The fact that I am having a meeting is a major loss for the US, say the haters & losers. We have our hostages, testing, research and all missile launches have stoped (sic), and these pundits, who have called me wrong from the beginning, have nothing else they can say! We will be fine!" Trump said in a tweet.
About 2,500 journalists have descended in Singapore to report the summit. Trump and Kim landed in Singapore two days ago. Officials from both sides are having intense discussion over the past few weeks. Trump said the meetings are going on well.
"Meetings between staffs and representatives are going well and quickly ... but in the end, that doesn't matter. We will all know soon whether or not a real deal, unlike those of the past, can happen!" Trump said.
In the past few weeks, Trump has repeatedly said that he would simply walk out of the meeting with Chairman Kim, if he sensed that North Korea was not serious in denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
Trump has insisted that Pyongyang must give up its nuclear weapons ambition. Two of America's close partners -- Japan and South Korea -- have assured the US of help in the economic reconstruction of North Korea if everything goes well in Singapore.
Trump's meeting with Kim is scheduled to begin at 9 am local Singapore time (6.30 am IST). As per the schedule released by the White House, the two leaders are likely to spend time together for several hours at the Capella Hotel in Singapore, which includes a one-o-one, delegation level talks and a working lunch.
"Following the initial greeting, President Trump and Chairman Kim will participate in a one-on-one meeting, with translators only, an expanded bilateral meeting, and a working lunch," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said.
