Two candidates file nomination for Raj bypolls

Two candidates today filed nomination papers for the upcoming by-election in Kota (South) assembly constituency in the state.

Congress candidate Babu Lal and Independent candidate Rajesh Gupta filed their nominations today for Kota (South) constituency, Chief Election Officer Govind Sharma said.

These are the first nominations since the process began on August 20.

The bypolls to Nasirabad, Weir, Kota (South), and Surajgarh assembly constituencies are slated for September 13.

However, no nomination has been filed in the remaining three constituencies.

The last date of filing nominations is August 27, scrutiny of papers will take place on August 28, and withdrawal of nomination can be done by August 30.
