A married woman and her paramour were awarded life imprisonment today by a court here for killing the woman's grandparents.

Additional Sessions Court Judge, Sunil Kumar found Shama (32) and her paramour Jitendra (35) guilty of killing Bhullan Khan and his wife Anwari for opposing their relationship.

The Judge also imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 on each of the accused.

Shama, who lived with her grandparents, was involved in an illicit relationship with her neighbour Jitendra before getting married to another man, which was objected by the grandparents, according to the prosecution said.

Shama continued her relationship with Jitendra after her marriage, it said, adding that when the grandparents opposed the relationship, the duo strangulated them on the night of December 16, 2011.
