Two girls drown in Yamuna river

Two girls who had gone to rear cattle today drowned while taking bath in Yamuna river in Jaisalpur village of neighbouring Kanpur Dehat district.

Police said that four girls, aged between 11 to 16 years, slipped into the deep waters while taking bath.

While two of them were rescued by villagers after a youth raised an alarm, the other two could not be saved, they said.

Bodies of the victims were later fished out by divers.
