Two men cheated of Rs 90,000 in ATM fraud

Two cases of alleged ATM card fraud were reported here today.

In the first case Satpal Singh alleged that he was robbed of Rs 56691 in ATM fraud on January 14 this year in which the caller posing himself as a representative from State Bank of Mumbai.

The caller convinced Satpal that his ATM code would be changing and asked for his complete details including the bank account number and the ATM pin.

"The matter was sent to cyber cell of Faridabad police for investigation. A case was registered under section 420 of IPC and 66C and 66D of IT Act," Station House Officer (SHO) of Ballabgarh police Station Satpal said.
 

According to Satpal the investigation shows that the amount siphoned off from the account of victim was actually from some location out of India.

In the second case, Pyramid Kumar alleged that he was robbed of Rs 35,260 on October 14 last year after he received a telephone call said to be from State Bank of Mamba.

A case was registered with Police station Ballgame city under section 420 of UPC and section 66C and 66D of IT act

Efforts were on to nab the perpetrators, the officer said.
