Two persons were killed and one was seriously injured when their motorbike was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Ambedkar Chowk in Bihar's Darbhanga district, police said today.
Benipur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Anjani Kumar said that the deceased have been identified as Chandan Ram and Ram Gulam Ram while the seriously injured person Manoj Kumar has been referred to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Darbhanga.
The incident occurred late last night when the three persons were returning to their home after attending a marriage party, the SDPO said adding that police patrolling jeep took the three seriously injured persons to Benipur sub- divisional hospital where doctors declared two of them brought dead.
Meanwhile, angry local people today blocked the Darbhanga-Kusheshwar Asthan state highway to protest against the incident demanding payment of adequate compensation to the families of the deceased persons, police sources said.
Talks are on with the protesters to lift the blockade, the SDPO said.
