Undertrial commits suicide in Muzaffarnagar

An undertrial, accused in a rape case, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling in the bathroom of a barrack in a district jail here, police said today.

The incident took place last evening, they said.

According to the jailor,

Undertrial Sumit left a suicide note in which he claimed that he was falsely implicated by the rape victim, Jailor Mizazi Lal said.

The accused was arrested in the rape case at Kudana village in the district on October 23.
