Undertrial prisoner stabbed in court premises

An undertrial prisoner sustained injuries today after he was stabbed by an assailant in the district court premises here, a police officer said.
The prisoner Raju Kumar was going out after being produced in the court in connection with an attempt to murder case when the assailant identified as Dilip Singh lunged at him with a knife and stabbed him in his neck, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Pandey said.
The injured prisoner has been taken to Sadar hospital for treatment where he is battling for life, he said, adding that the attacker managed to escape by giving the cops a slip.

The motive behind the attack was under investigation.
Raids were being carried out to nab the accused, the DSP said.
