Union minister, Army pay floral tribute to Naugam martyr

Union minister Subhash Bhamre today joined the Army personnel here for paying floral tributes to rifleman Tara Bahadur Roka, who lost his life while foiling an infiltration bid by militants in Naugam sector in north Kashmir.

Bhamre joined Lieutenant General J S Sandhu, general officer commanding of Chinar Corps, and all ranks at Badami Bagh Cantonment in paying homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation, an Army official said.

Many senior officials including DGP Jammu and Kashmir police, S P Vaid also paid their respect to the slain jawan, he said.

The Army had yesterday gunned down three militants but lost one of its men while foiling the infiltration bid aided by the Pakistani Army in Naugam sector, raising to seven the number of infiltrators killed on the Line of Control (LoC) in the last 48 hours.
