UP govt mulls to start moral lecture in schools

Uttar Pradesh government today said it was mulling to start a moral lecture of 15 minutes in the state's secondary schools after morning prayers.

State Secondary Education Minister Mehboob Ali said "a short moral lecture in the morning would go a long way in establishing moral values into the students mind and personality."

Expressing concern over the rising instances of crimes being committed by students, he said here that the move will instill moral values into the students' mind and personality.

The Minister warned the teachers who skip their duties for taking private coaching classes and said soon government will start the biometric system of recording attendances in schools.
 

He also underlined the need for fast tracking clearances of department files and regular inspection of schools to run the board properly and improve its standard.

Ali was appointed Minister of Secondary Education on June 17.
