Newly-appointed US Ambassador to Nepal Alaina B Teplitz today called on the Nepalese Army chief Gen Rajendra Chhetri and discussed issues of mutual interest.
Teplitz met Gen Chhetri at the Nepal Army Headquarters in Kathmandu.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest and matters relating bilateral cooperation, according to army sources.
Nepal Army and the US Army have been frequently exchanging training programmes and conducting disaster-related exercises.
The meeting was the first after Teplitz's appointment last month.
