US envoy visits Defence Staff Service College near Ooty

US Ambassador Richard Verma today visited the Defence Staff Service College (DSSC) at nearby Wellington where he held an interaction with faculty and students on 'Emerging Indo-US Strategic Ties'.

After interacting with Lt Gen S K Gadeock, Commandant of DSSC, Verma addressed the faculty and students of 71st Staff Course and shared the perspective on "Emerging Indo-Us Strategic Ties," an official release said.

He witnessed the multi-spectral transformation that had taken shape in the pristine campus and development of infrastructure at the college, which trains aspiring staff officers of all the three services - Army, Navy and Air Force, as also selected officers of the paramilitary and civil services, and officers from friendly foreign countries.
 

Accompanied by US Counsul General in Chennai Phillip Minh, and US Air Attache Robert Capozella, the Ambassador also met two student officers from US Army and Navy who are undergoing the staff course at DSSC.
