Ward officer arrested in bribery case

Thane unit of anti-corruption bureau today arrested a woman ward officer of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation for taking bribe.

An ACB release said that Swati Garud, officer of J Ward, had demanded Rs 30,000 for the permission to repair a house in the area.

After the house owner approached the ACB, a trap was laid and she was arrested while accepting the bribe this evening, it said.
