West Bengal government has set up 88 fast track courts

The West Bengal government has set up 88 fast track courts by December 2013, Law and Judicial Services Chandrima Bhattacharya said today.

Of them, 46 were dealing with cases of violence against women, Bhattacharya told the Assembly.

Responding to questions by members on how many cases were pending and how many have been disposed, Bhattacharya said that the details were not with the department but with the high court.
