A 30-year-old woman has filed a case of harassment for dowry, including physical assault, in police station sector-55 Faridabad, police said.
According to the case filed yesterday by one Sahida, she got married to Mubin, a resident of village Dhauj in Faridabad in June 2005.
After the marriage, Mubin, his elder brother Zahid and his brother-in-law Gulzar used to harass the victim for dowry. She was tortured physically as well as mentally for not bringing enough dowry, they said.
The complaint filed by the woman, who is daughter of one Usman, yesterday and a case under IPC sections 498A (husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 506 (criminal intimidation) was also registered.
The police are investigating the case. No arrests have been made till now, said the investigating officer SI Ramnath.
