Work of Madurai-Rameswaram natl highway sect suspended

The four lane work on the Madurai-Rameswaram national highway sector has been suspended following stiff opposition from the land owners and farmers over settlement of compensation.

According to officials, the work would resume after talks with the farmers, who were demanding market value for the land claiming the land price offered by the government was less.
