A national workshop on awareness on National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was inaugurated at the Saurashtra University here.
The two-day event is jointly organised by University Grants Commission and NAAC under the National Quality Renaissance Initiative (NQRI) of NAAC.
It was inaugurated by acting Vice Chancellor of MS university (Vadodara) Parimal Vyas.

"Over 300 participants of various colleges are taking part in the workshop," SU's professor Alok Chakrawal, who is also coordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell said.
"The Saurashtra University is accredited Grade 'A' by NAAC and it is quite aware of taking innovative steps to improve the quality of higher education in its constituent colleges and associated organisations," he said, adding the workshop was organised looking at the needs of awareness of NAAC assessment and accreditation.
A senior SU professor said, "the UGC and NAAC are keen to take quality of higher education to a new height and to achieve excellence in higher education. The UGC has emphasised to go for NAAC accreditations for all institutions of higher education receiving government grants.
