Youth ends life after attacking a girl with an axe

A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train after he attacked and grievously injured a girl who rejected his proposal, police said today.

According to police, Ishwar Yadav allegedly attacked a Dalit girl with an axe yesterday when she was waiting for her train to go to college in Mahendergarh (Haryana).

Yadav attacked the girl for rejecting his proposal of marriage, they said.

Thinking that she was dead, Yadav too ended his life by jumping before a passenger train, they said.

Meanwhile, the girl was referred to the PGIMS in Rohtak where her condition is said to be out of danger, a Railway Police official said.
