YSR Congress today hit out at the ruling TDP for criticising its President YS Jaganmohan Reddy over his mass contact programme in the capital area region, saying the "impatience" of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is reflective of people's opposition to land pooling.
"Ever since Reddy's tour to Tanaku and Anantapur, the AP government is on the defensive and has been passing irrational remarks. However, the fight will not stop and will be intensified by standing with the farmers who are being cheated by the state in the name of land acquisition," party spokesperson Tammineni Sitaram said.
"The Chief Minister has expressed restlessness by asking the people to question as to why Reddy is touring in the capital area region. The response the Leader of Opposition is getting is sending shivers down the spine of the state government as the land is acquired by coercion and it will not stand the legal scrutiny," he alleged in a release.

Sitaram said the state has admitted to have acquired 32,300 acres of land while experts say the extent of land is much higher than what is required.
"Till now Naidu did not announce as to how much land is required but has gone on record that he will create a land bank of over one lakh acres," he said.
He alleged that fertile lands are being taken away from farmers along with their livelihood and the CM is trying to pass on the "benefit to MNCs and his coterie, to do real estate business".
"We will not allow this and YSR Congress will stand by the farmers and fight for justice," the release quoted Sitaram as saying.
