Zinc down by 0.4% on global cues

Speculators trimmed positions amid a weak global trend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc prices fell by 0.44% to Rs 135.60 per kg in futures trade today after speculators trimmed positions amid a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January eased by 60 paise, or 0.44%, to Rs 135.60 per kg in a business turnover of 61 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in December contracts fell by 50 paise, or 0.37%, to Rs 134.95 per kg in 1,176 lots.

Analysts said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly due to a weak trend in base metals in global markets.
