Financial Times reports Germany's Springer to buy FT Group

LONDON (Reuters) - British publishing group Pearson is in advanced talks to sell the FT Group to Germany's biggest newspaper company Axel Springer, the Financial Times newspaper reported on Thursday.

The FT cited several people familiar with the situation as confirming the likely buyer.

Reuters reported earlier on Thursday that Pearson was close to announcing a sale.
