Sensex edges lower; metal stocks drag

Reuters Market Eye - The BSE Sensex and the broader Nifty were trading lower on Tuesday with metal stocks leading the decline on concerns over growth in China.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 0.58 percent while the Nifty fell 0.65 percent as of 11:23 a.m.

Shares in Hindalco Industries were 4.7 percent lower while Jindal Steel and Power Ltd was trading down 3.5 percent.

Asian shares inched tentatively higher as the focus turned to an imminent policy decision from the Bank of Japan.

Overseas investors sold Indian shares worth 632.4 million rupees ($10.30 million) last Wednesday, provisional exchange data showed.
