13.05% Gilt Traded For Rs 120 Cr

The Wholesale Debt Market at the National Stock Exchange clocked a trading volume of Rs 518.39 crore as compared with Rs 497.35 crore witnessed during the last trading day. The corporate deb-enture segment remained closed on account of Diwali holidays.

There were two trades worth Rs 20 crore in the treasury bills segment despite the call money rates ruling in the region of three to four per cent. There was demand for long dated securities such as 2007 13.50 per cent and 2008 11.50 per cent government loans, said a dealer from the NSE.

There was hectic demand for 13.05 per cent government loan maturing in 2007 with seven trades being executive for it on the NSE screen. The paper accounted for trade volume of Rs 120 crore at the weighted yield of 10.83 per cent.

 

Although there were only two deals done in the 11.50 per cent government loan, maturing in 2008, it clocked a volume of Rs 85 crore at the weighted yield of 10.89 per cent. The paper was traded at the low of Rs 103.70 and closed at the high of Rs 103.80 for the day. The 12.59 per cent government loan, maturing in 2004, was traded for Rs 55 crore, and accounted for eight trades. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 10.60 per cent at the high of Rs 109.30 and closed at the low of Rs 109.20.
