Agro Arm Launches Fipronil

Rhone-Poulenc Agro, the agrochemicals arm of French pharma giant Rhone-Poulenc, has introduced Fipronil, a new insecticide developed by the company, in India.

This insecticide has a major efficacy on rice pests and has the unique effect of giving a higher yield on rice.

RP Agro executives told Business Standard the introduction of Fipronil in India was simultaneous along with the launch of the same in other countries in Asia Pacific, underlining the importance India has in the sector for Rhone-Poulenc.
