Citibank Plans Card Payment Facility For Calcutta Phone Users

This would allow credit card holders to pay their bills by simply instructing the bank over the phone.
Calcutta Telephones chief general manager K R Ramanujam told Business Standard that the bank has suggested a service charge of Rs 50 to each such bill payment.
However, Calcutta Telephones considers this too high and would like Citibank to charge just two per cent of the billed amount.
In fact, this is the usual norm for calculating the service charge by Citibank for other items. Ramanujam expects a solution on this soon.
In fact, the proposed facility is just one of the number of exclusive services Calcutta Telephones plans to offer to its 4.6 lakh subscribers.
