Crop Insurance Scheme Extended To Non-Loanee Farmers

The cut-off date for non-loanee farmers to join the scheme had been extended to August 31, agriculture minister V Shobhanadreshwar Rao told reporters here yesterday.

The scheme was compulsory for loanee farmers, who have raised notified crops, and optional for non-loanee farmers, he said.

The cut-off date for payment of premium and declaration for loanee farmers was July 31 last while it had been extended for non-loanee farmers to enable them to join the scheme, the minister said.
