Delhi Trade Bandh Enters 4th Day

Hunger strikes, road blockades and protest demonstrations marked the fourth day of the trade bandh in the capital yesterday even as the Union ministerSrikant Jena, announced the convening of an all-party meeting on the controversial rent control act today. Representatives from leading trade organisations began a two-day hunger strike outside the historic ghanta ghar (clock tower) in the Chandni Chowk area of the walled city demanding incorporation of amendments in the controversial legislation prior to its notification. Commercial activities in the capital continued to be paralysed with major markets remaining closed yesterday.
