Gold Firmer, Steadies Near Resistance

It looks as though it could hang around here, which would be disappointing as there should be some more movement left in the price, one said.
Gold was fixed at $380.20 per ounce after $378.85 on Thursday afternoon and a close overnight of $379.25.
Dealers reported light two-way business, but said the market was generally quiet and defensive. However, one said, It is behaving as if it could move either way quite sharply.
Far East markets were a little up from the New York close of $380.10 spot, with some physical business from Hong Kong seen towards the bottom of Tokyo
