Grundig To Supply Audio Systems For Ford In India

Right now Grundig supplies audio systems for Ford in Europe and this arrangement has been extended to the Indian market also.
According to current plans, Grunding will bring its audio systems from its base in South Africa in semi-knock down condition.
The company has already announced its plans to launch its entire range of audio products in the country early next year.
By bagging the Ford contract, Grundig which hold the number one position for its audio products in Europe, will start with a ready-made market.
Though investment plans are yet to be finalised, preliminary indications are that the audio products will be made locally with critical inputs coming from the parent company in Germany in the initial stage.

But since bookings for the Ford cars have already opened, Grunding has decided to get down the audio systems from its closest manufacturing base.
Until local supplies are streamlined, this arrangement will continue.
Meanwhile, in the colour television segment where the company has already established its presence, plans are afoot to get a new range of sets from the country's manufacturing facility in Indonesia.
This will help the company to meet the competition unleashed by other multinationals, industry sources point out.
