Israel Firm In Agri-Tech Pact With Ap

BHC Agro, the Israel major in water management and agriculture, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh government for a Rs 4.61-crore technology transfer project to step up farm output in the state.
The company has agreed to technology transfer in the fields of drip and sprinkler irrigation, floriculture and horticulture as well as co-operative farming.
The memorandum of understanding was signed here yesterday between the rural development secretary, Ramakanth Reddy, and Prabhakara Rao, the representative of the Israel company.
The technology will initially be implemented in the backward Kuppam mandal of Chittoor district on an experimental basis and if found successful, it will be extended to other parts of the state in phases.
