Laloo Says He Will Not Resign

BSCAL

Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav yesterday firmly stuck to his decision not to resign in the wake of the CBI formally seeking the gubernatorial nod to prosecute him in the Rs 950 crore fodder scam.

A defiant Yadav told newsmen here, it is neither the BJP nor the CBI which made me the Chief Minister. I will continue to hold the office as long as the legislators and the people of the state have confidence in me.

Asked about the possibility of his floating a regional party in the event of internal pressure on him to step down as Chief Minister, Yadav said why should I float a new party when I am already heading a national party like Janata Dal.

Stating that the CBI's move seeking state Governor A R Kidwai's sanction to prosecute him was as expected, Yadav expressed confidence that Kidwai would give due consideration to his petition.

Kidwai is an experienced man and he will definitely have a detailed exercise before giving his nod to cbi to prosecute me.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday formally requested the Governor to sanction prosecution against the Chief Minister and others allegedly involved in the fodder scam.
