Modest Gains

Equities slightly improved and finished with modest gains. However a few counters declined narrowly on the Madras Stock Exchange (MSE) yesterday. A good number of them remained unchanged. The MSE share price index improved to 3110.98 from 3099.04 points.

ACC strengthened to Rs 1440.65 from 1429.00. Balaji Bio dropped by Rs 2 to Rs 85. Cochin Malabar recovered by Rs 7.50 to Rs 195 while Electropoly dipped by Rs 2.50 to Rs 24.50. Chemplast Addes Rs 1.05 to Rs 53.05, Femnor by Rs 1.10 to Rs 28.10, Finolex Cable by Rs 4.65 to Rs 153.65 and Elgi Tyre by Rs 9.40 to Rs 314.40.

 

ITC rose by Rs 9.95 to Rs 254.90, Larsen & Tourbo by Rs 3.40 to Rs 222.40, LV Bank by Rs 1.25 to Rs 56.25 and Reliance by Rs 2.15 to Rs 185.90. Ramco spurted to Rs 918.25 from Rs 875 and Rajapalayam to Rs 2350 from Rs 2315.
