Net4 India To Invest Rs 15 Cr In Web Hosting

Net4 India, the Internet service provider for small and medium enterprises, yesterday announced its plans to invest Rs 15 crore to offer web hosting and server co-location services in the country.

The web solutions will be available in New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Jasjit Sawhney, chief executive officer, Net4 India, said, "Our attempt is to provide our customers truly world class infrastructure to host website and co-locate servers. We offer a complete package that is required to convert an idea into an enterprise. Starting with domain name registration, we provide an individual or a business all the assistance that they may need to develop and sustain an identify in cyberspace."

 

The web server hosting facilities will be made available on Windows NT and Linux operating systems. For sites that require database support, mySQL and msSQL database assistance are also being provided.

Net4 India will also be taking care of daily backups, e-mail support, web mail options and free upgrades of operating systems along with a host of new services which will be introduced shortly.

The company's network control center in Delhi will monitor and manage networks and systems. It will install fiber optic cable and multiple uplinks, allowing redundant connections to the Internet.

These services are being set up as part of the current expansion of the Internet access services of the company.

The physical security and integrity of each server farm location is maintained through high tech magnetic swipe cards systems, security alarms and onsite 24-hour security personal. Net4 India, which focuses on the SME segment, was the first ISP to provide unlimited access to its customers.

The company offers packages ranging from 25-hour access valid for three months at Rs 350 and unlimited access for a two years at Rs 9,990.

The company is part of the UK-based Sawhney group of companies.
