Panel On Use Of Tripura Oil, Gas

A high-level monitoring committee will be formed under the chairmanship of minister of state for petroleum and natural gas T R Baalu to review the progress of exploration and production of hydrocarbon resources in Tripura.

Tripuras industry minister Tapan Chakrabarty, MPs from Tripura and the officials concerned from the petroleum ministry, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation and Gas Authority of India Ltd will also be on the committee.This was decided at a meeting organised by Baalu to review the production and utilisation of natural gas in Tripura. Issues relating to the optimum utilisation of gas both in the short term and the long term were discussed.
