Patel Sworn-In As Chief Minister

Keshubhai Patel was yesterday sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Krishnapal Singh at Raj Bhavan here. Sixty-nine-year-old Patel is the 23rd Chief Minister of the state. and is assuming the office for the second time. He became the first BJP Chief Minister of the state after his party won the 1995 Assembly elections.

BJP leaders AB Vajpayee, L K Advani, Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma, Rajasthan CM Bhaironsingh Shekhawat and former state Chief Minister Suresh Mehta attended the swearing-in ceremony.
