Portfolios Of Sbi Cgms Altered

The State Bank of India (SBI) has reshuffled the portfolios of six chief general managers (CGM) based in its central office on February 12.

The CGMs that were given the new postings include H Lal, S K Gupta, V Krishnan, B L Patwardhan, M A Krishnan and K K Chattopadhyaya.

S K Gupta, in-charge of banking operations at the bank, will be heading the Calcutta circle in place of P K Sarkar.

Sarkar was recently promoted as deputy managing director (DMD) and is slated to be in charge of finance portfolio at central office.

While H Lal, currently in charge of credit will take charge of the Delhi circle in place of Madhukar, who has been promoted as deputy managing director, and is slated to take over managing director of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur.

 

B L Patwardhan, currently in charge of marketing and product development at the bank will be heading the credit portfolio in place of Lal. V Krishnan, who is in charge of developmental banking, will take charge of the banking operations.

M A Krishnan, who is in charge of management audit will handle the developmental banking portfolio.

K K Chattopadhyaya takes charge of management audit from M A Krishnan.

Meanwhile, V Jankiraman, managing director - in charge of corporate banking - is slated to retire this month. S K Mukherji, managing director of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur and also the senior-most deputy managing director at the State Bank of India is asked to join the central office.

Sources said that he could take over from Jankiraman, although a formal appointment letter has not come from government as yet. He is slated to retire by November end this year.

Vepa Kamesam may take over from S R Iyer, managing director, currently in charge of nationalised banking. Sources said that since Iyer's tenure is slated to complete by May-end, Vepa Kamesam would take over his portfolio.
