Ramamurthy Threatens Statewide Agitation

Petroleum minister and Tamizhaga Rajiv Congress (TRC) president Vazhapadi K Ramamurthy yesterday threatened to launch a state-wide agitation if his demand for dismissal of the DMK government in Tamil Nadu was not conceded within a reasonable time.
Ramamurthy told reporters after an executive committee meeting of TRC, an ally of the AIADMK, that DMK had supported the LTTE in the state in 1989, which had led to the dismissal of DMK ministry then. A similar situation had developed in the state now as fundamentalist activities were on the rise, he alleged.
The Centre, he stated, should not keep watching the situation as if it was a tamasha.
