Rs 208.11cr Worth Trading Witnessed

The wholesale debt segment (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has clocked a trading volume of Rs 208.11 crore of which the treasury bills segment contributed an amount of Rs 100 crore. Of the total three repo deals worth Rs 40 crore for eight days, two were concluded at the rate of 11 per cent, while one was at the rate of 13 per cent.
The corporate debenture segment witnessed a volume of Rs 36.01 lakh. The prices of government securities recovered from yesterdays close by nearly 20 paise as the call money rate ruled at a lower level of eight to nine per cent, said a broker at the NSE.
The 13.50 per cent government loan maturing in 1998 was traded for Rs 35 crore at the weighted average yield of 13.49 per cent against the previous days yield of 15.05 per cent. The paper was traded for Rs 99.98 compared with the previous days close of Rs 99.73. The 364-day treasury bill maturing on April 4 was traded for Rs 15 crore at the weighted yield of 13.08 per cent against the previous days yield of 14.08 per cent. The 364-day treasury bill maturing on April 24 was active traded for Rs 55 crore at the weighted average yield of 13.33 per cent.
