Rubber Prices Dip On Lack Of Support

Natural rubber prices declined sharply at the primary trading centre here this week on lack of buying support and inadequate procurement by state-owned agencies, dealers said.
Procurement by agencies like Rubco and STC, which have been asked by the Centre and the Kerala government to buy the commodity to help stabilise its prices, was on a low key, they said.
Amidst the fall in prices, arrivals increased.

During the week, prices for RSS four slid to Rs 25.75 a kg from Rs 27.50 last week. At Kochi, the other major trading centre, the prices ended up at the same level.
Lot rubber prices also closed lower in tandem with the general trend to Rs 24 a kg against Rs 24.50 last week both here and at Kochi.
International prices also witnessed a decline this week. Prices for RSS three, the one comparable with Indias RSS four slid to Rs 2947 a quintal from Rs 3049.
